Thunderbird will try to automatically determine the settings for your account, but it is best to enter these manually yourself, so when the screen below appears please click on Manual config and continue to Step 3.ģ. Enter your name, email address and password in to the boxes shown and click Continue.Ģ. Start Thunderbird and from the menu bar choose File > New > Existing Mail Account you will then see a screen appear like the one below. Add an new email account to Thunderbirdġ. There are several ways in creating new accounts in Thunderbird. Please note that the setup process and dialog boxes on your computer may vary from what is shown here, depending on what version of Mozilla Thunderbird you are using. → It will prompt you for your SMTP.To set up Mozilla Thunderbird with Runbox, follow the step-by-step instructions below. → Check you are online then test to ensure you can send mail correctly → You should now be back to the main Thunderbird 17 screen

→ If you only want to use it on a specific account you will need to configure them individually → If you do set as default you will need to set all your accounts to use the 'Default' SMTP server: → You may wish to set this as the default SMTP server by selecting it and then clicking 'Set Default'

→ You now have a separate SMTP account setup using the service → Enter the username (it will ask for your password when you first go to send a message) → Set 'Authentication Method' to 'Encrypted Password' → Enter the 'Server name' as the SMTP server we supplied with your signup email (typically ) → Select 'Outgoing Server (SMTP)' in the left-hand column: → Alternatively, go to the 'Tools' menu on the top bar and choose 'Account Settings' → From the main screen click on your account/email address in the left-hand column and then select 'Views settings for this account': → Load Mozilla Thunderbird 17 by clicking the desktop icon or selecting from the Start Menu ∆ These instructions are only for Mozilla Thunderbird 17. ∆ Only change the items specified - do not change your email address or incoming email settings. ∆ These instructions assume your email account has already been set up and is collecting email correctly.
